Churches and ...horses

An amazing altarpiece... I think it's in the Dominican Church.

I adore these vaulted ceilings. The engineering involved in the construction is mind boggling!

This is a 'Lenten Cloth' in the St. Michael Church.

The columns symbolise the past, present and the future. I've never heard of these cloths, but all the statues of Jesus are covered with them for the 40 days of Lent.

The Viennese apparently love their horses.
Here are just 3 of the many statues in the city featuring men on horses.

Nice. They must have had a lot of great warriors in there history. Or more likely a lot of men who wished to be remembered as great. You seem to be having a lovely time, I am so jealous that I went for a walk yesterday and tried to pretend that I was a tourist. It didn't really work. Hamilton doesn't have any equestrian statues that I know of.
