We Are Meant to Shine!

From one of my favourite books:

You are a child of God. Your playing small doesn't serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.

We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just some of us; it's everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we're liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

It is so very interesting that you have posted this today, Kim! Just this week I was feeling very down about myself in the context of a dear friend. It really hurt her to hear some of my insecurities because it felt like they were about HER. They weren't, of course. They were about ME. And immediately I realized how selfish it is to feel our lack of self-confidence! We DO need to shine and not shrink. Thanks for the reminder.

And YES, let's get together in AMS! I'll send you an e-mail eventually to give you our dates here.

One of my favourite books too... lovely piece of writing that always reminds me to "get over myself"... but gently.
