See You In September

I've been sick for the past month (like everyone else here in Tirana) and haven't felt like posting much.

We're having major power outages everyday from 10-2 and 5-7 in our area, the temperature is almost always 38 degrees or higher, it hasn't rained in 2 MONTHS, etc etc...

I am bored with blogging.... everything I think of writing is probably a repeat of things I have written before. After more than two years in a country you are no longer a tourist with fresh eyes, but a local who is surprised by nothing.

I am off for a month to Canada tomorrow morning. Perhaps I will feel refreshed when I come back- or perhaps not. We'll see.

Ciao (for now). Kim

PS Be good- I'll still be reading YOUR blogs.

I know you'll have a great time in Canada.

I don't agree that you're repeating yourself, but I understand why you feel that way. I've been feeling the same way. It helps to take a short break. Enjoy!

Have a good trip and a refreshing time in Canada, Kim!
Right about the locals' reactions - upon your return you'll find lots to write about, I'm sure.
Have good summer!

Have a great time in Canada!

I know what you mean. I have been living in Armenia for two and a half years now and my perspective has changed as well. Even from before when I would travel to Armenia two to three times a year and spend up to six months per year there. By coming and going I noticed the changes and differences. I recently realized that I don't so much anymore. I guess we've both been "localized" over the past couple of years.

As for getting bored with blogging, I guess that happens to everyone sooner or later. I have also had spells recently where I didn't feel like blogging but felt like I _had_ to put something up there even though I felt like I had nothing to tell.

You'll be fine, being outside of Albania for a while, recharging your batteries and just enjoying your holidays. Have a good time!

I've decided it's the full moon or something weird going on with the planets, Kim, because I've been kinda "empty" on my blog as well, even though a lot is always happening.

I'm guessing you'll be totally replenished and will come back to us with a full tank. Have a great time back home (away from home--I know that feeling).

So, some days out and you're gone... Hope you have a great vacation; that's exactly what I'm dreaming of, but don't think I'll manage to! Anyhow, Canada will probably not suffering the heat wave of South Eastern Europe hopefully. Enjoy! We'll miss your posts and comments, but we'll survive until you come back!
All the best
Gil

Hi Kim, sounds like you just needed a break. I'm glad you're back and hope you keep blogging when you get back to Albania. I might not comment often, but do read your blog and like learning about the country and seeing it through your eyes.
