Bathroom Changes!

Thought I'd share a few details from my bathroom in our new Canadian home.
Here are two shots of it before I started the redecorating:
And here is how it looks now:

I'm pretty happy with how it's turned out considering we only made cosmetic changes to this room (well other than replacing the floor). The floor is an amazing laminate which looks just like slate! I'm so in love with this red and am so happy I found the courage to use it here. In fact I love it so much that I painted one wall in my bedroom the same colour. It's called Scarlet Maple Leaf by Para Paints.

Here are a few detail shots from the bathroom:

I hate visible air freshener bottles, so I hid it!

Fabulous tall candlesticks we found for $7.00 each at Home Sense!

Small white shelves from Zellers for only $15.00/pair!
I found the small sign at a local craft shop.

A pretty nightlight that came with a darling silicone bulb that looks like a candle.

A shiny silverish tray for $1.00 !!!! at the local dollar shop! (Yes I use all those creams!)

Cute hooks for bathrobes etc... a dollar each unpainted... I painted them myself.

And last, sweet terry cloth shower curtains from the supermarket and then I mixed the hooks which I found in two different shops. All in all I love spending time in there!

Ouch! I feel sorry for your Mr. Stepping Stones.

Will he have to wear a skirt before entering this bathroom?

Haahaaa ITS!
No.... when he's in Canada he has his own bathroom-- downstairs and it's basic black and white. And his has its own jacuzzi!

That makes sense. The whole "His, Hers" sign threw me off.

But I guess that's in case he needs to visit and get in touch with his feminine side.

It's red and white-- not PINK :)

OMG...your husband is stuck in some far off land and you do this to the poor fella....

It would serve you right if you got back to albania to a beerkeg dartboard motif...

but what guy sits around and says..hey I have nothing to do.."i'll redecorate"

The Bathroom looks great!

Wishing you a very Happy St. Patrick's Day. It is a huge feast back home, but here in Italy it is just another day. Boo hoo. What about in Canada? Do they celebrate it like the crazy Americans?

The bathroom looks great! I like to think if we owned our own place I'd be more adventurous with color - by why paint big and bold when you'll just have to change it back when you leave?

Well..it seems like its dividing into two groups... I bet father Bob is siding with ITS and I.....

Don't think I've ever seen my Dad in THAT bathroom...lol!

I think it looks great. You picking red has to mean something bold. ;-) But I love your accents. We have been looking for a shelf still. Maybe I'll trying going back to Zellers to look for those shelves. We still need one in our bathroom which is driving me nuts without it!

Definitely not pink! :-) Wow, you did a fantastic job. I love it. We're sorta kinda thinking of re-doing the bathroom and the kitchen because they both need it desperately, but we'll have to decide where we want to throw the $$$ (or I guess it's the €€€ now) at first. . Is the laminate flooring especially made for bathrooms? I would love something like that, but with the amount of water that get's sloshed around here, I'm wondering if it would be suitable for us.
