Yes, It's Been a Month!

I have a new toy... a beautiful Canon EOS Rebel xsi And I'm learning to use all the bells and whistles!

Today we went to the historic St. Lawrence Market in downtown Toronto. The first job I remember my dad ever having was in this wonderful old market. He was a butcher here and I still remember the smell of the sawdust they used to soak up the blood and other drippings on the floor. I looked everywhere today but couldn't find any sawdust anywhere.

These beautiful smoked bones caught my eye- such interesting shapes!

I love going to the market when i'm in toronto. We start on the veggie side then cross the street for our meat. (Altho the veggie side has an amazing sausage place on saturdays.)

I started going to the market in the mid 70's when I lived on Church St. My parents also went every Saturday morning and when my mom lost her mobility my father went alone. The last year of my Mom's life my offspring was in T-dot and he took her to the market one last time. The butcher there (the Greek one) was so happy to see her again after so many years. I don't go any more I just do the local markets now, less stress. Enjoy Toronto. Someday coffee?..ciao

YAAAY for your new camera, Kim...not that you needed one to make your pictures any better! I do like the new look of your blog. How fun when we get to play around with new toys. :)

I love that market. What a coincidence; my son was just saying today he wanted to go to Toronto. We used to go a lot when Lydia had dance competitions up there. I miss it!
