Real Life Begins Again

It's been so long since I've blogged that I've forgotten how! I used to be able to just sign in and blog without having to think about each step, but I find myself sitting here this morning having to do it step by step. It's been far too long...

Summer of '08... sold our home in Nova Scotia... drove with my parents through New England... stayed with my cousin Karen for most of August... found and fell in love with a condo... managed to buy it and get my Mom and Dad moved in before September started... got them all settled in and hopefully used to the new way of life... enjoyed being a bit lazy for a week or two... and flew back here to Albania, arriving yesterday afternoon.

My feelings were mixed. I wanted to stay in Toronto and I wanted to be back in Tirana. Flying home I gulped down the overwhelming sadness of leaving my family behind. I felt closer to my kids than I have in quite some time, both of them now live in Toronto and I was so very lucky to have been able to spend lots of time with each of them. I love you two.

But coming through the arrival doors at the airport here in Albania, I knew I was in the place where I am supposed to be- back in the arms of my sweetheart. Nothing feels more right, and nothing feels more wonderful. I am so blessed to be his partner in life. Lucky me!

And once again my life begins to get busy. Meetings, dinners, parties, and a few vacations are already filling up my calendar. After 3 months of very few things on my agenda it feels good to see my week spread before me with many appointments written in bright green ink. I have things to do, places to go, and people to meet, and I'm going to share it all with you right here. Let's get started!!

On today's agenda:
Unpack (argggg)
Lunch with The Big P
Board meeting for TWIG
Grocery shopping (the cupboards are so bare I feel like Old Mother Hubbard!)

Welcome back to the blogosphere! I know what it feels like leaving family behind and yet being pleased to return home to "foreign country". I always feel sad, my body feels physically heavy, yet it is "good to be home". Enjoy your social calendar!

I know how you must have felt when you returned to Albania. Feeling you are where you belong and being with the person you love. Doesn't that feel great?

Was just thinking the other day that you'd not blogged for a while! Welcome back to the routine!

Sounds like quite a time you've had and I hope all goes well back in Albania.

Hey,
I've been a long-term reader of your blog and I'm happy to see you back posting. I was wondering where my fix of Stepping Stones has been.

Keep up the good work!

You will never forget this summer/year, T1. I can't imagine having to say Good Bye to family in such a spectacular place on God's earth. But I also know the feeling of going "home" to the love of your life.
