My how fast a year goes by!!
It's my blog's one year anniversary today and so I'm gonna celebrate all day. I started by weeding the garden- what a complete thrill! Normally I live in a penthouse apartment in Tirana- hot, dusty and with just a couple of scrawny potted plants. But here in Canada we have a beautiful home with a humongous garden. Little did I know just how happy weeding and puttering could make me feel- but it did. There must be a hundred tall, old trees spread around our property, which give a lot of shade and dappled light. There's a lot of work to be done because the house was unoccupied all last summer and winter, but together with my Dad we're getting everything accomplished.

Next I'm going to eat a delicious and healthy lunch with fresh veggies and dip, a slice or two of a hot artisan bread with herbes, a huge glass of Clamato juice (my favourite). Then I'm going to the garden center with my Dad to buy a few plants to start our new herb garden, and then we'll do some digging.
Dinner will be Lemongrass Fettuccine with Seared Shrimp and Scallops, a new recipe which I'm dying to try. I LOVE cooking in this kitchen- everything is just where it should be, plus I can buy anything I need in fabulous local markets. I'll try to take a photo or two of the day an post them later.
Have a wonderful day and find ways to celebrate summer!

Happy Blogiversary! Keep up the good work - I've enjoyed your writing so much.
As for the gardening and the great food, sounds like your days are mirroring mine. Ain't Canada grand? :-)
Happy Blogbirthday! I don't know if Blogger is now giving notice when a blogger is nearing the 1st year, but I missed mine when it came up. Just came and went before I realized that 3 months had gone by. Oh well...
Happy Aniversary!
It's nice to be back in the civilised world, eh? :D
I know exactly what you mean by everything is where it's supposed to be in the kitchen.
My parents spent 2 thousand dollars on their new kitchen in Tirana, but when the electricity went out, and I couldn't find aluminum foil in the cabinets, I started screaming. My tiny kitchen in Montreal, is my heaven. :)
When are you planning to go back to Tirana? I will be there first and third week of September. Hopefully I will get to meet you!
Are you in Nova Scotia now? I will be going through there the last week of August too, so let me know where you are.
Love,
your blogging pal
Happy Blog Birthday and enjoy the one nice weather month in NS :)
