I lived for 5 incredible years in Bucharest Romania (from 1999-2004)and saw a lot of interesting but often painful things. One of these things was the horrific scale of the problem with orphans and institutionalised children.
Take a look at this powerful web documentary when you have time. As they say, this is Romania's lost generation.
Heartbreaking.

ReplyDeleteFirst, it seems that no Albanians are answering to your request to translate the singing; that’s a shame… ;) Anyhow, it’s amazing to see Albania on CNN…
The Fashion show looks great; I wonder whether they made it in the room where they use to store all the busts of Enver they made disappear from the show rooms… ;)
The Belvedere, with Klimt, Kokoschka and Schiele, is a must and I’m glad to read that you think that art should disturb you…
Fast food in Dürres? This world is getting crazy!!
And to end Vienna a great Max Ernst at the Albertina! Lucky girl!!! (Did you manage to see the Dürer(s) there?) And the Imperial Torte (not the Sacher); how many did you bring with you?... ;))
The Earth Day and the Lost Generation posts are quite impressive. Incredible how dirty people can be…
Hope you have a great week!
